Takis Laios

Manager, Transmission Asset Strategy

Takis Laios is responsible for securing competitive transmission projects within the PJM Interconnection (PJM) region and for maintaining a strategic focus on PJM activities related to transmission expansion, policy and regulatory matters.

Laios' more than three decades of experience in the near-term and long-term planning of the AEP transmission system includes analyzing the AEP transmission system, identifying potential violations of reliability standards and planning criteria, reviewing alternatives and recommending solutions to correct potential violations. In his various roles, he has analyzed the performance of the transmission system from a regional perspective and served on a variety of PJM stakeholder forums: the Planning Committee, Transmission Expansion Advisory Committee, Sub-Regional RTEP Committee-Western, Regional Planning Process Task Force, Interconnection Process Senior Task Force and the Transmission Owners Agreement-Administrative Committee.

Laios earned a bachelor's in electrical engineering from Northeastern University, a master of engineering in electric power engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a master's in business administration from The Ohio State University.
